Gracie came to me yesterday asking if she could cut up some of her too small tights for one of her dolls. I found a pair and gave them to her and that was the extent of my involvement in the project. She located my sewing scissors (which I have been missing for some time now)
and this is what she came up with.
She explained to me that the dress had been too short for the baby, so she thought she could make some pants for her and then tuck the dress into them as a shirt. She measured how long the tights would need to be for the babies legs, and them cut off the feet to that length to make pants. She also decorated the pants. When I told her I thought they were just sooo cute, she said, "I KNOW! I can't stop looking at them!" Her baby looks rather chuffed too. She may not be on Project Runway next season but not too shabby for a 5 year old designer.
Omigosh I love this kid. I was wondering last night where she gets her uber-capability from-cos it sure aint me. There's super-Aaron, of course, yes but then I thought of Aaron's mother, the quintessential pioneer/nurse/farmers wife, and my dynamo mom, ever-productive granny and superwomen sisters, and thought...holy cow with all those genes combined she is going to take over the world one day!! Apparently it skips a generation.
Fabulous! She even got a cool green belt/waist band type thingy on there. I'll buy Gracie Lynn Designs when she makes it in the fashion woild.
Oh wait, she's over Eli isn't she?

LOL!! It didn't skip a generation. I am sure if her mommy takes a good long look in the mirror she would reallize that Gracie gets more from her mother than credited for. You have amazing kids because you are amazing!!!
